In creating this portfolio I asked myself, “what do I put my free time towards?”

And it would be a disservice to present myself and leave out…

that I am a huge fantasy football nerd.

Welcome to the Hecht Hunters Fantasy Football League

Ok I know this isn’t as serious as the other projects but it is to me!

As league commissioner I find every opportunity I can to breathe life into this league and make it fun for all 12 members involved.

A good commissioner keeps the league organized and civil.

To resolve disagreements democratically, every offseason I have an official ballot where the league members may vote on any rule changes that they would like to see applied to the upcoming season.

I compile them into a voter guide for transparency and uniform understanding across the league.

Is this overkill for a fantasy football league? Yes.

But it’s FUN!

And when it comes time to face the opponents, you need to rile up your team! I as a manager always make sure all my players have their minds right and understand what’s at stake in this make believe football game.

You need to strike fear in the hearts of the other managers, let them know that YOUR team is the squad who will bring home the championship.

And the only way to do that is by creating a dramatic edit of your team to send to the league group chat.

This league goes back years and has enough lore for it’s own website, ask me about the weekly lowest scorer press conferences, or about the time the league almost collapsed into a civil war over draft picks!

It’s an honor to run this league and create something that holds 12 friends together across continents. 2026 will be the year the trophy finally reads “Nicky G.”
